Reading Sammy the Mouse, I feel a lot like Sammy when he hears that disembodied voice telling him what to do, even if the action doesn't made any apparent sense. It's like the author, Sally, is telling us to keep reading this absurd and apparently disjointed narrative, giving us some tacit sense of assurance that this is the right thing to do and that things will apparently make sense. Okay...I'll keep digging...
