I am not one to normally sit down and read a gigantic horror book, because I simply do not like the crazy images I conjure for myself in my head. However, give me a giant book of mini horror stories and I’m good to go. I find anthologies like this one to be lots of fun and I am really glad I was given the opportunity to participate in this blog tour.This anthology is a two volume set and each and every story is worth your time. They are all chilling and creepy and many have a crazy twist of fate...
I love horror anthologies and this one did not disappoint me. I'll be looking to get all the volumes in this collection!!!
"Fear....." is a selection box of spookiness. Whether you are a fan of zombies, vampires or good old-fashioned ghosts, there's something for you here. They may not be the most spine-chilling tales, but they are worth reading.
A few very good stories. Most stories were ok. A few that were just bad.
The folks over at Crooked Cat Publishing put together one heck of an anthology. FEAR Volume One was packed tightly with thrillers, chillers and originality. Loved it!
It was a very satisfying read.
As a charity anthology, for only a handful of pennies, it would be churlish (and uncharitable!) to pick at the loose threads in this e-book, which could perhaps have benefited by a little more editing. That aside, 30 stories means even if you don't like them all, there's something for everyone! Here's my favourite three :A cloud Over the Sun, A.A. Really good collection of short stories, many by writers I had not heard of before. most stories in this anthology were really compelling, though I liked some more than others. Definitely worth a read.
There are some very spooky stories in this compilation and I've definitely discovered writers I'd like to read more of. A few of the tales are a bit more miss than hit, but the standard is generally quite high. It could also do with another run through by an editor for some small typos and spelling errors. But hey, it's for charity!
this collection is pretty OK for the price. However it lacks... i dunno.. memorability maybe. Some are quite weird (in a bad way) that i wondered what the hell is actually happening. Some are dull. One or two i like.. such as 'Alarming' and 'Octavia'. Worth a try, anyway. tq
Well of course I think this book is great, I happen to have a story in it! But at the risk of sounding bias, it's horror at its best!
Pretty decent horror anthology. Enjoyed most of the stories; maybe one or two weren't as good, but none were awful. Well written, well edited. Enjoyed this one!
I’m accustomed to the average anthology running from 14 to 20 short stories, unless they are flash fiction tales, so I was pleased that this anthology offered a double dose of scary goodness. While not all the stories matched my typical horror tastes, I still found each and every one of them entertaining in some way. With such a broad assortment of horror, thrillers and dark fantasy gathered in one book, It would take me several separate reviews to touch on every one. Instead, I’m going to focus...
Meh. With 70% of the stories taking place during Halloween or describing yet another Zombie breakout, this collection has little to offer to me. The short stories in it fail to scare as much as they disgust or make you sense despair. Every single story is paranormal and nothing really grasps you is something realistic.
