It’s up there with series like Pokemon and Mario in terms of brand recognition. And yet, it is a very constrained, focussed series. Every Street Fighter game is a fighting game, meaning its audience is narrowed when comparing it to other massive series. And, yes, characters have appeared in other games from different genres, your Project X...
The most exciting book in street fighter's releases..!! This was the first comic book I had ever read for street fighter and ever since I had read it a few years ago I couldn't help my self in getting my hands on every single book related to street fighter especially Udon's.
Okay, so, not even going to lie: I have a major, major soft spot for Street Fighter. I never got past the point of glorified button masher, but I always loved the characters (in particular, Chun-Li). Though it may be hard to follow the story of the Street Fighter games (Alpha 0? Third Strike? What?), the comics line up everything perfectly. It was an action pact fun read. Started out as short stories which were connected to each other and later on the long stories which were connected to the short stories came in. Story Started with Ryu defeating Sagat. Sagat believed that he lost his honour with the defeate and started to search a new path to regain his honour. Ryu and Ken's master Gouken was murdered by his own brother Akuma and afterwards Akuma defeated Ryu and Ken in a humiliatingly easy way but left them alive cause he realise...
I remember being really into this book when the individual issues were first being released years ago. I have so many of the variant and foil covers, I just loved the art on them.Happily it's still a fun read. Street Fighter isn't a series that people flock to for the story, but the fluff is still entertaining. Shadowy crime bosses, secret agents, interpol, and many people beating each other up. The art is still very nice to look at. Looking forward to volume 2.
