The pug is back! And he's ready to snort and make confused expressions! Luckily, he has the best travel buddies: the foul-mouthed child mage, her warrior stepmom, the strange old man (scribbly!), and our favourite Kinmundian. The art is great, the writing is great, and the humour is great. Deservedly award-winning, Battlepug is one of my favourite graphic novels.
I thought this volume of Battlepug was just as entertaining as the first one. It lacked a good storyline, though.
A funny continuation on Volume 1 - with puppies! A possible nod to the Jeffersons, about halfway through kept me giggling. As we leave our heroes, a new character comes on the scene, making me look forward to the further adventures to follow. Now off to the library's website to check on Volume 3!
In this second installment in the ongoing series, we add a mage and a bit of cheesecake and meet the antagonist face to face. More fun and destruction and more of the beautiful art work featured in the first graphic novel. The good news, there is a Battlepug III. The bad news, I don't own it ... yet.
The artwork is always nice, but the story is starting to lose steam and many of the supporting characters aren't as entertaining as the author seems to think.
What's not to love about the continuing adventures of a giant Pug and his warrior pal?
Continuing my Mike Norton kick.I actually wasn't that excited to get Volume 2 of Battlepug, because I didn't really care for Volume 1 that much. I love the concept I guess, I love all-ages comics, I love Conan, etc. But the first volume seemed to have humor that was a little too stupid for me, a story that was really TOO fast paced (I know I know, it's a webcomic), and yeah - left me wanting a lot more.I don't know if it's just where I'm at and what I've been reading or what, but I found this vo...
Great artwork but story is fairly typical fantasy fare.
Introduced to even more characters in the Battlepug world. Norton is adept at keeping things a top pitch while teasing us to read further. Our discussion of the entire webcomic can be found at http://comicsalternative.com/webcomic....
3.5
The plot thickens! Our fearless heroes encounter new potential allies and face the fearsome Catwulf. I'm still pretty much in this graphic novel series for the adorable pug drawings, tho. I shall continue!
Yaaaaaaassssssss...

It has a giant pug... Plus 1 star!
The epic saga of the last Kinmundian and his fawn friend continues as they go toe-to-toe with Catwulf, the evil villain who destroyed the Kinmundian warriors Homeland. It's got all the humour you come to expect from Battlepug, plus some hilarious new characters. As a comedic action narrative it does a great job of transitioning from one arc to the next. Book 2 of a (planned) 5 book series is a winner.
Love the story being told to the Pug and Mingo! And the 2 Dogs together, lol so funny! Also I love that the story is about more than just being silly.
More good stuff from Mr. Norton. See vol. 1 for what I think of the series.
First addition here to be read on my tablet. Still profoundly daft.
