This can be read for free at http://www.firstlawcomic.com/archive/1/. I of course found out about that after I bought it but it's all good. I'm still glad I own a copy. This first volume was a little heavy on the the politics, which is a necessary part of the story, but I know it only gets better from here. The First Law Trilogy is the best dark fantasy trilogy I've read and so far the graphic novel is an excellent adaptation.
Hahaha, padahal baca novelnya masih ongoing... Penasaran saja sama visualisasi komiknya.
Quizz time! Guess right and win a teddy bear!Take one of the best fantasy trilogy's ever written, by one of my absolute favorite authors, with the character *cough* Sand dan Glokta *cough* that kicked Tyrion Lannister's arse. Now, add to this delicious mixture Chuck Dixon and Andie Tong. What do you get?Answer: A damn good comic adaption.
I just found out this was a thing, only to be confronted with the fact they discontinued the comic ToT I went and read the four and only issues and I want moooooore. So good to have a slight visual representation of the characters I've just read about.Something that was really great is that Abercrombie's voice as an author is so unique that, through the dialogues and characteristic phrasings, I felt like I was rereading the first book itself. The drawings are alright and the colours are great. Lieliska piedeva lieliskai sērijai, kas ļauj salīdzināt savas domu bildes ar tām, kas bijušas autoram un komiksa māksliniekam. Jauka, bet īsa atgriešanās Pirmā likuma pasaulē. #teamLogen
Do NOT read this without having read the book. And if you HAVE read and enjoyed the book, then this is a treat. I would've loved to see the whole series done this way.
Shame they didn't continue the series for the trilogy! Great to see a visualisation of the characters and world.
It's a shame this comic was discontinued. I read the first two books not so long ago and the comic served as a great way to refresh my memory. I quite enjoyed it, even though I already knew the story. I think they captured Glokta well and the writer chose all the right things text-wise so all the characters main traits are apparent in the comic too. I haven't checked, but the text seems unaltered, straight from the book. :)
For an incomplete comic this is really an enjoyable read. I haven't read the First Law series yet and alot of my favorite youtuber is constantly praising Joe Abercrombie. Thanks to this I'm fully convince to try the first book.
Lieliski! Skaistas ilustrācijas, kas saskanēja ar maniem iztēles tēliem no grāmatas, saglabāti grāmatas sižeta sīkumi, humors. Žēl, ka pieejams tikai 1 sējums no šī. Labprāt pārlasītu visu triloģiju šādā formātā.
Not a fan of the art, but overall enjoyable.
Well worth the read
Issue 1 of 4 of the graphic novel adaptation of The Blade Itself. This review will focus on how well the graphic novel is able to bring the book to life.Logan NineFingers has the right look down to the scar and missing finger. Very well done. The spirits were imposing and looked better than what I imagined from reading about them. The essence of Inquisitor Glokta, a man with a broken body but still cynical and proud of spirit, is perfectly displayed to full effect by this one panel.Thankfully the...
Awesome!
Nice
Like every adaptations, some scenes are cut from the book, retaining the "most important ones". And it is good to actual see the characters faces and the places, written in the book. But I am quite sad that this haven't had any more volumes or chapters, after its last release on 2013. And not much is happening yet.Hopefully the could continue this graphic novel.
Really enjoyed the audible editions of this trilogy, and their ability to paint a picture of an epic set of battles and the little scenes in between to set them up.
I need more...
I loved the way the author slowly brought us into the plot and the characters. If you have heard any reviews you know that this book is considered grim dark and loved for the character development that takes place. I don’t have much to add to what has already been said, being grim dark I was expecting something darker but I have a feeling it will found in future books. We got to know lots of characters and backstory which means that very little really took place in this book but it didn’t feel l...
Be warned the comic adaptation was dropped just after a volume, so it’s strictly for fans of the original novel so that they can visualize the fantasy world & its characters or for those who want to start reading the novel The Blade Itself. Loved the artwork, it’s great, better than I had visualize them, the character sketches are sharp, the colors beautiful. The dialogues and characters which were the highlight of the novels are seamlessly integrated in comic format. The adaptation pretty much
