A young woman name Christine is chosen by an ancient magic to inherit a power which has existed since before the reign of mankind. She will be called upon, drawn from her world, tested and forced by her destiny to share her personality and thoughts with the shade of a long dead King, bearer of a ancient legend.
She has become the latest in a long line of humans called to serve the King, to fight the returning evil, and to share her life. She is guided by Vindec, a once great magician, through the labyrinth of her life in the Elvin world. All that she knows is lost to her, all that she would have been is changed and replaced, as she fights for her right to become the one true user, bearer of the sacred sword, mentally linked to the Lifestone which summoned her and joined to the entity who was once the true King.
Christine’s life will never be the same again as she becomes the young woman that is both the controller and the controlled, by the ancient magic and prophesy. She faces up to her responsibility, changes and melds until she is the equal of the Dark Lord Nailstead and ready to seek his destruction.
