What a journey! It's true that things felt a little rushed at times, but I truly enjoyed Andrea's story. I especially liked the way she finally stood up for herself, giving us all a lesson that sometimes we do need help and we should not deny it. This book is totally recommended 🤗
4.5 stars! So I am a huge fan of anything Jennifer Armentrout writes. I’ve read all but one of her books, and the lowest I’ve rated her books was a 3 (and that was the Gamble brother’s series which isn’t her best). That’s 20+ books I’ve loved by her so I am not being modest when I say I might be a little biased when it comes to her work, because it just works for me.Andrea and Tanner do not get along. Most of the time they are trading barbs and insults with each other until the other one gets p
3 Don't Call Me Andy Stars! This one started off really good. Enemies to lovers. Of course I was loving it! It's one of my favorite things to read about. lol But some where around 60% it started slowly going down the hill for me:((Andrea has just changed her major from Pre-Med to Education. She no longer wants to follow in her parents foot steps. Her parents are not happy with this. She's had a major crush on Tanner since her freshman year of college until something happens and she starts to
This has to be for Andrea and Tanner. Please, Jesus, let me be right!!!
3.5 Stars
I loved this!!!! It was a great love story and not just the kind of guy-girl love story but more about loving yourself. Scorched deals with some very hard topics and JLA did a great job doing that. Definitely topics that need to be talked about more.
3 Stars!! This was a lovely read, but unfortunately didn’t impress me too much. Needless to say I won’t remember anything about it next month. I’ve had high expectations for this one since I’m familiar with this author’s style, which I enjoy and especially since it has one of my favorite tropes – enemies to lovers. "Scorched” is the second installment in “Frigid” series, but it can be read as a standalone.Andrea has some problems she tries to deal with. Recently she changed her major from Pre-me...
Drama overload. :((((((( I've read this plot in tons of books already and some of them are with less drama and so much better. Jennifer L. Armentrout, why you always makin' me hate your books??????
It kind of hurts my heart to give a book 2 stars, especially when it's been written by an author I really like, but this book was just not for me. Don't get me wrong; it's an important story to tell, but it has already been told a thousand times. To be brutally honest this book was just one cliche after the other.
Andrea and Tanner probably :)
Jennifer L. ArmentroutI have read almost all of JLA's books, so she is, without a doubt, one of my favorite author. Her stories have a way of speaking out to you, her characters are so fun and down to earth, it's like you've known them for ages. After reading Kyler and Syd's story in Frigid, it was a happy surprise to read about Andrea and Tanner's story. They have quite the dynamic, since they are constantly at each other's throats. The witty, smart-ass comebacks are so fun to read. It's obviou...
3.5 starsReading romance books lately has reminded me a lot of mushrooms. There is nothing worse than realizing the hard way that the delicious dinner you ordered has mushrooms in it. You want to enjoy the creamy pasta, but you're too busy picking out disgusting pieces of fungus to fully enjoy it. (Sorry, that probably only makes sense to me.)I actually thought this was a pretty good book overall. JLA has a fun sense of humor, and I enjoyed a lot of the banter between these characters. Tanner an...
Sexy, moving and compulsively readable. A story about friendship, love and redemption.[4.5 stars]Jennifer L. Armentrout’s latest novel packs all the feels in just the right amounts. There’s sexiness and steam. There’s wit and banter. And there’s a whole lot of unexpected emotion as our female protagonist, Andrea, struggles to stop her life from spiraling… from being consumed by her insecurities and past transgressions. This is a story with an enemies to lovers feel, which makes the chemistry bet...
It's been like a year and a half since I read Frigid and from what I can gather, Scorched is 50x better!!! There's no doubt before I started this, that I wouldn't fall head over heels... I mean comeon, it's Jennifer L. Armentrout, one of my absolute favorite authors and queen of swoon - worthy men. I knew I would fall for this. I've never been let down and I've read a very big chunk of her books! I definitely think this is better than Frigid for sure, so much more happens than what Syd and Kyle
There were some things that irritated me about this book, but for the most of the story it was really beautiful and emotional. Andrea and Tanner's story was not what i expected it to be. Andrea, foremost, had alot of personal issues that hindred their relationship, but she is also one hell of a sexy gurl. Also the different aspects of these issues gave the story a depth which the first book lacked! I loved the "fulfilled" realtistic expectations while reading this story. Their sexy times were cl...
How gorgeous is this cover? This eagerly anticipated companion to FRIGID does not disappoint! Once again Jennifer L. Armentrout delivers a poignant story about life, love and friendship, infused with her signature humor, wit and swoon. Andrea's journey is not an easy one, but she's the kind of character you want to champion and see succeed. And then there is Tanner. Excuse me while I go set fire to something... Just kidding! But seriously, Tanner was awesome. Strong, supportive and exactly what A...
3.5-4 starsLike all of Jennifer Armentrout's books, you can expect a fun and down to earth chick, a sexy as sin love interest, and a romance that will melt your heart and heat your cheeks. I was very happy to get Tanner and Andrea's story, after first meeting them in Frigid a couple of years ago. They have quite the dynamic, since they are constantly at each other's throats, but there's an attraction, too, that has been steadily building. Sometimes antagonistic romances don't work for me, but I
Original review from my blog Julalicious Book Paradise I won't lie. My rating throughout the book went between 3.5 and 4, but I settled on 4.I was really happy to hear that we would get a book for Andrea and Tanner, but I was sort of disappointed from time to time with it.The sexual chemistry is completely there; no doubt about it, but I felt like I couldn't connect them together as much when they were acting all cute and sweet with one another. I really wanted to after I fell for Syd and Kyl...
I really loved this story. Tanner and Andrea do not have an easy road to romance. They fight and argue, trading quick witted barbs and insults at each other. There is definitely an attraction between them and neither of them knows exactly how to act on it. When they go away for a week to a cabin with friends Syd and Kyler (YAY for catching up with this couple from Frigid - love them!) Tanner decides to finally make his move. Andrea is a fun girl, always laughing and having fun, having one-night
Like I always say after finishing a JLA book.... JLA has done it again!!! But this book I feel is different from her other ones, it really makes you think and it is such an important story that I think we can all get something from, realizing we all have our demons that we need to overcome and push through so we can get to that light at the end of the tunnel that has so much happiness to offer. Find those people in your life that will always be there for you no matter how badly you screw up and
