I found this to be an entertaining anthology of speculative fiction set in Texas by Texan authors. Each author told a different kind of story in their own style. I never knew what to expect when I started a new story.
lots of great stories, one fun theme!
Couldn't put this one down. Each story was as thrilling as the one prior. The variety of subjects and authors gave texture and depth which increases the enjoyment of each story. (And yes, you do get a buxom cheerleader blasting at aliens with a ray gun!)
This is a great collection of science-fiction short stories, all the more impressive since the authors are from Texas, in one way or another. There were only a couple stories I didn't like - The Neal Barrett one in particular I hated, the second by him I've read in as many month, so I think I just don't like his writing story. The Michael Moorcock story was bloody boring, and I like a lot of his work.
