Mac and Cheese are about two best friends who are polar opposites. Mac loves to run and jump and be silly while Cheese is a grump and likes to do nothing. Mac one day asks why are you so grumpy cheese and cheese tells Mac that he likes just hanging out doing nothing with Mac. They learn to appreciate each other for who they are and still remain friends. The main theme I found in this book would be that it is okay to be different from one another. We all don't need to like the same thing and do t...
So describes my life 😂I liked that this book showed that there are more than one personalities. It showed that each can be appreciated in its setting and that one can go beyond comfort to please another. I read this book to my son. I think he may understand why mommy is different but will jump and pounce and swim and bounce to help him whenever he needs me.
This story was a silly tale that was both useful for a teacher to read to their students and a student to read to a peer. This is from the simply sentences used in this story, that a second grader wouldn't find much difficulty in reading. This being said, this is an appropriate book to have in an elementary classroom setting.
Mac and Cheese are quite the pair. Mac is outgoing and happy, Cheese is the exact opposite in every way. He doesn't like to do anything but sit in peace and quiet with his friend Mac. But when Mac loses his hat, Cheese does everything he doesn't like to get the hat back for his friend.
Easy for a new reading kindergartenerMy son loved that he knew the majority of the words in this book, and that there were plenty of words that he was able to sound out. Great book and he enjoyed that in the end Mac and Cheese were friends.
My granddaughter loved this book about how two friends can get along even though they like very different things. My granddaughter loved this book. She's is five and loved all the rhyming words. It's perfect for beginning readers. The two cats have a friendship that shows young children how two friends don't always have to like the same things. They can be completely different, yet still spend time with each other. They can still care, help, and take care of each other, even though they like dif...
It's Cute, But The Rhymes Feel ForcedBasically exactly as the (frustratingly mandatory) headline says: this is a cute book with a nice story and adorable art, but the rhyming pattern feels forced and clunky. I think it would be much better if it were just presented as a normal story instead.
This is the stuff
Shows different personalitiesThis book has a fun rhythm for early readers.I like that it shows different personalities between the friends, however I wish that Cheese, the more melancholy of the pair, wasn't presented as a grump. It's ok to be more melancholy and shouldn't be presented as such a negative trait.
Very cute, and a nice story for a low energy parentOne of the cats is a grump, and picky, but in the end it saves the other cat's hat and says that just sitting relaxing with someone you love is worthwhile.
Great book for rhyming!
Cute little book for kids who are learning to read (I'd say K to 1st grade in general). Definitely follows in the tradition of The Cat in the Hat and other popular Seuss works. One such line, "This fish is cold and very old. I do not like fish old and cold," almost winks at Seuss. Kids who like the Elephant & Piggie books might like this one, too.
This is a cute and funny early reader. Little ones will like the different things these two crazy characters like and dislike in this well written book. The rhyming words will help the early readers match the sounds and the words together. This is made for from 4-8 year olds. Mac likes to eat but Cheese is very picky. Cheese does not like old or cold fish. "Nice day," says Mac. " It's hot" says Cheese. Mac likes to play, Cheese says, go away. Mac likes to sing. Cheese does not like anything. I
Son Loved ItSeveral months back, I tried to get my son to read this book, and he wasn’t able to. So for all these months we’ve been practicing. He did so much better this time and almost read it all without any help. The rhyming scheme made it easier for him to sound out words he wasn’t familiar with. It’s definitely a book he’d like to read again and maybe completely on his on next time.
a good book for children learning to readMy granddaughter read it to me with a little help and encouragement. She liked the story and the interactions. Thankfully, it's on Kindle Unlimited, because for a 15-minute read, buying the physical books would be too expensive. She thought the interaction between the cats was funny and wondered how two so completely different cats could be friends. She was glad they managed to enjoy some peaceful time together.
Mac And CheeseThis book is one that for kids can show how differences still allow friendships to still exsist. The illustrations are really five star. Though the story i wish was a little more. Yet it does have a good lesson to teach on how differences are ok. Which is very nice. Definitely recommend this book.
This was just okay for me and my daughter. She's enjoyed so many other I Can Read books, but this one wasn't in the top faves. But, it was still enough to read every now and again.
I read this to Julianna this week from prime reading. She gives it 1 star lol.
Fun easy read about how opposites attractMacaroni the cat is an energetic extrovert who is outgoing and full of life. Cheese the cat is a polar opposite. It seems as if the friendship can't last between the two until Cheese leaves his comfort zone to help his friend. You think maybe he's changed, but instead has made a grand gesture and is still the same Cheese as before. But it's okay because Macaroni realizes the friend he has in Cheese...just the way he is.
Cat fantasy book. This is an I can read reader good to have in your classroom for developing readers. It has a lot of rhyming in it very similar to Dr. Seuss making it easy to read. It’s about friendship, and differences. Good for ages 4-12. Text sets: friendship, difference are ok, Cat fantasy, rhyming.
