"Another Bedtime Story, Please!" is a collection of 31 stories written by Bing AI. This may well be the first ever Children's book written by one of the new Artificial Intelligence programs. I think you will be amazed with the creativity Bing AI has demonstrated.
The process was simple. I, the human, asked Bing AI to write a story in blog format about the story ideas I came up with. In the first story in the book, for example, I asked "Write a story about two cats who trick a dog away from the food pantry he was guarding."
Bing would construct the basic story. In a couple of cases, the stories were incomplete. So I would ask the same story idea slightly different and then blended the two creations into on. Often some parts of Bing's creations did not make sense, lacked creativity, or were inappropriate for a children's story. For example, in the surfers' story, Bing had the shark bite into the boy's leg. That was too graphic. I changed it to pulling the boy under water.
With each story, I would just edit Bing's creations to make a better story. When finished with each story, I would then also ask Bing to create an illustration. Within 30 seconds Bing presented 4 illustrations. Usually one or two were good enough to use.
This book clearly shows the potential of AI in helping people become more productive. We co-wrote this book in just one weekend. I had never written even one children's story before. But with Bing this became something I could easily do. Those who have read the book, children and adults alike, really liked the way the stories came out.
So enjoy getting a taste of computer-generated creative wrting.
