Caera Bauer grew up in a typical, all-white suburban neighborhood in the small town of Sommersville. Although her father did everything he could to provide a stable, loving home for his family, Caera's childhood was a rollercoaster of emotional abuse.
As a teenager, Caera suffered cruel, physical abuse at the hands of a man she thought she could trust. Eventually she left Sommersville and vowed to never return; but, a few years later tragedy left Caera with no choice.
Philip Haydon also grew up in Sommersville; but, he lived on the other side of town and his life was filled with tragic loss, heartache and bigotry.
After the devastating loss of his mother, Philip grew to hate white people, ultimately joining the Black Panthers.
These two diversely opposite people met one day, fell in love and spent the remainder of their lives together enduring unbelievable challenges; but also an unparalleled romance.
