0/5 ( ratings)
This article was originally published in the September 1, 1898, issue of The American Engineering & Railroad Journal. This article provided technical details on a new locomotive that was made for the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad specifically for it's line running between Edgemont and Deadwood, South Dakota. While most of the text is direct from the original article, a few footnotes have been added to define some acronyms in use at the time this was written.

This engine was constructed by the Pittsburgh Locomotive Works and has an overall weight of just over 181,000 pounds. The picture of the engine is from the original publication.
