Albrecht Durer is considered the greatest artist of the Northern Renaissance Period.
In 1486, at the age of fifteen, Durer apprenticed to Michael Wolgemut, the leading artist in Nuremberg at the time.
Durer learned much about new developments in perspective, anatomy, and proportion from Venetian artist Jacopo de’ Barbari.
In addition to art, Durer also published two books in his lifetime. The Four Books on Measurement, and The Four Books on Human Proportion.

NOTABLE WORKS:
Adam and Eve, Melencolia, Young Hare, Knight, Death and the Devil, Saint Jerome in his study.
