This book is based around first years’ life of a real dog called Elvis and his mate Sgrwff, from the dog’s own perspective. Elvis explains the dog training challenges that he has encountered and some of the simple methods and techniques used to get him to where he is today.

Dog training is highly important for all dogs and puppies no matter what breed as they all need to fit into a hierarchy and know where they stand. The techniques used for training a dog have been applied in a persistent and non aggressive way with a view to having a friendly, non aggressive, happy and confident social adult Doberman which has been achieved.

It provides some advice on the type of dog to go for explaining their characteristics and needs as it is important for any prospective dog owner to look themselves in the eye and ask themselves if they can really accommodate a new dog before they start.

The process of training a puppy involves a number of things including toilet training, how to behave around other people, animals and so on. Most of this is down to the environment which the owner for training a dog, for example socialization and nurturing plays a very important part and is well covered in this book.

This book explains how to train a puppy with simple easy to follow steps broken down into their own Chapter which any new or potential dog owner should be able to pick up and apply to their own puppy or dog training and general upbringing.
