In the summer of 1999, Major League Baseball and Mastercard International distributed more than 35 million ballots to fans throughout North America. Of the more than 15,000 players who wore a big-league uniform in the 1900s, only 100 were deemed worthy of All Century Team consideration. In the end, only 30 were named to perhaps the most prestigious "Team" in the History of sports in America.
