Another Order, Please!

Another Order, Please!

Catherine Wood
0/5 ( ratings)
Another Order, Please! is a cheerfully and colorfully illustrated book for children, ages 3 to 11, and adults! Spirited and playful, it tells the story of Dara Barker, a rambunctious pup who is excited about going to a restaurant with her family. She knows the right behavior to use in the restaurant, but her friendly and exuberant nature takes over. Before too long, what started out as an afternoon of high spirits leads to an "upsetting" incident, and Dara feels embarrassed about her behavior. However, Dara is neither shamed nor punished for her misjudgment. Rather, her parent teaches her in the moment. Dara Barker learns an important lesson on when it's time to play and when it's time to implement appropriate manners and behavior. She learns from the incident, and is able to recover her good feelings and have a great time.
The playful, uplifting tone brings a positive message to children and adults alike: it's okay to make mistakes, and we can learn from the calamities in our lives. It identifies that our thoughts affect how we feel, a key aspect of cognitive-behavioral therapy.
The author will donate half of the net proceeds on sales of Another Order, Please! to charities for children and animals of the individual's or sponsoring organization's choice. If a charity is not specified, proceeds will be divided among reputable charities in the contributor's resident country.
