In this new book, the inventors, and other experts, make the case for Maglev applications and projects that were not specifically detailed in The Fight for Maglev. The lead authors, Dr. James Powell and Dr. Gordon Danby, his co-inventor of superconducting maglev, and the contributing editors, share a vision for deploying Maglev technology as a transport system in the least disruptive way to the North American market by evolving America’s aging passenger rail system to Maglev. They show how this new high speed transport system can make the U.S.Capitol more secure by using it to eliminate the need for using the takeoff and landings paths to Ronald Reagan National Airport. Maglev America tells how the new 2nd generation superconducting Maglev can adapt subways and rail to Maglev. The book’s includes a case study that shows how New York City’s rail systems will save billions of dollars in operating costs when adapted to Maglev, with much greater comfort to the riders.
