On July 20, 2010 Keith Launchbury and his wife, Business Consultants, were traveling almost 3000 miles from home when Keith was stricken with a tight band of pain across his chest. Just 24 hours later he was totally paralyzed from the middle of his chest to his toes, and was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, a rare spinal cord disorder which occurs when the body's own immune system attacks the spinal cord.
This book chronicles their journey through three hospitals, rehabilitation and two months of recovery. Additionally, it presents lessons they learned through the journey which will help health care professionals provide better care, and help patients, their families and their advocates get the best care possible.
