Crowvus loves folklore. From the downright terrifying to the utterly sublime, we love to be reminded of the endless possibilities of something beyond our knowledge and understanding.

In this collection, you will find narratives based on real events as well as those which are wholly fictional. You will find the works of God and the will of the devil, with a whole spectrum between. But, above all, you will find yourself questioning what truth lies in each piece, and being drawn into the realm of otherness.

Each piece of writing is accompanied by a chosen tree, with a brief explanation of the tree’s place in folklore. These snippets are drawn from Discovering the Folklore of Plants by Margaret Baker – one of our favourite books!
