Wilella Sibert Cather was an eminent American author. She was affected by Henry James then she returned to the prairie for inspiration according to the advice of Sarah Orne Jewett, and these works became popular and critical successes. Alfred Noyes was an English poet, best known for his ballads The Highwayman and The Barrel Organ. At the age of 21, he published his first collection of poems, The Loom Years. From 1903 to 1908, he published five volumes of poetry books, including The Forest of Wild Thyme and The Flower of Old Japan and Other Poems.
