He was a boy when the first shots were fired. By the time he reached the border, he would be a man... On a hot West Texas night Hank Littleton was riding hard - riding towards the Mexican border, caught up in a swirl of violence and deceit he did not yet fully understand. It had begun with two men claiming to be Confederate Army agents who murdered Hank's grandfather in cold blood, and then started south with a load of hijacked gold and a rag-tag gang. All Hank had to rely on was his rage at the old man's murder, and his skill with a Henry rifle - his only legacy from the Texas Ranger father who'd all but abandoned him. And all Hank had to do was keep riding. For in the next few days he would find the men he was looking for, find out a thing or two about vengeance and those who seek it, and meet a Texas Ranger on a lonely, violent hunt on his own...
