The Golden Demon (Tale of Three Dragons 4: The Light Bringer)

The Golden Demon (Tale of Three Dragons 4: The Light Bringer)

Andrew Eyes
0/5 ( ratings)
?The wyrm is mighty and terrifying, with rows of shields on its back,
tightly sealed together. His eyes are like rays of dawn. His chest is as hard as rock.
His snorting throws out flashes of light. White firebrands stream from his mouth,
sparks of white fire burst out. The swords of giants have no effect and arrows do not make him flee, when he rises up the mighty are terrified. No dart or javelin penetrates him. Iron he treats like straw, he looks down on kings like he was king of those who are proud.? That is the opponent King Andrin, of Nethermore faces. He is forced to take the fight to the dragon?s very lair and find the truth of Torimiris in their quest. Now, there is one final battle and it?s not going to be easy.

I closed his eyes and said to him ?This will end now.? and I steeled myself and walked in a steady pace down the tunnel that Lutrin went. I came across two young Dragons and I skewered them with my sword and kept going. I had a purpose now and nothing would deter me from that task. I had no fear, no regrets and especially no reason to care about the welfare of the Dragons.

Lutrin was staring down the Gold Dragon. I noticed that every time Lutrin attacked, the Dragon would turn and he would strike his back making a metallic twang as he struck. There were several shielded scales along its back as protection against any attack. I took an arrow out of my quiver and fired three of them laced with the Dragons breath at the Dragon. Each time, the Dragon would turn and the arrows would strike the shielded scales and bounce off harmlessly. He would shoot white flames at us and we used our shields to block his attack. We were at a stalemate and something had to give.

Three other smaller Dragons appeared at the side of the Gold one and we were rapidly being out numbered.

I yelled at Lutrin ?We have to pull back and find a place that we can make our last stand.? He seemed not to hear me and still slashed his sword out and around, while fire rained down on him. He ducked the blast and rolled forward and behind the two young ones. He got up behind them and slit their tiny throats, while the Gold one looked on. The two young ones fell in a pool of their own blood and that left the Gold one and Lutrin looking into each other?s eyes. I climbed around them and waited for the ambush. If Lutrin could push him back a bit, then I could strike from behind.

Neither one seemed to remember that I was part of this fight too and were concentrating on the hatred in each other?s eyes.

?Ahhhhhhh? Lutrin screamed and came forward against the standing form of the Gold Dragon. The Dragon used its wings to swat at Lutrin and they were in a battle that only one of them could win.
