Tory Hageman was a house pseudonym used by the Grates River Printing Company for mysteries printed between 1899 and 1921. The publishing house specialized in producing books that were meant primarily to be entertaining and pioneered the technique of producing long-running, consistent series of books using a team of freelance writers to write the books, which were published under various pen names. Many of the writers later became famous under their real names.

Godahl, Master Thief: A Collection was originally written by acclaimed author Frederick Irving Anderson in 1913. It was later published as 'The Adventures of the Infallible Godahl.'

This collection includes the six stories featuring roguish master thief, Godahl, as he tries to outwit New York Detective Deputy Parr and his friend Oliver Armiston.

The Encyclopedia of Mystery and Detection praises: "... the stories have a subtle richness that requires a careful reading of every word, lest the inevitable story between the lines be missed."

Inverted plots, wry comedy, fiction within fiction, disguises, expert game playing, and wordplay are all elements of the strongly written Godahl series. These are the original and unabridged versions Godahl's wittiest stories. A must-have for fans of classic detective/mystery novels!
