THE MILLENNIUM BUG WAS REAL. IT JUST WASN’T THAT KIND OF A BUG.
It is something far worse, a computer virus that made the deadly species crossover from machine to man. And it is amongst us NOW! Spreading unseen and unsuspected. Any of us could be infected. You might just have caught it this very minute!!! Scary, eh?
And that’s not all.
Folk are can it be as some suspect, the Rapture that heralds the End of Days, or is it something else altogether? Something never before experienced?
It all began when Big Bob Charker’s Tour of Brentford bus came to a terrible end in the High Street and the bodies of the victims began to dissolve in the Cottage Hospital. The local police are baffled, they are going to need a new kind of hero to deal with what is going on.
And here comes one now.
Ellie Anna Lovell, great grand-daughter of Alice has come to Brentford, to work in the offices of the borough’s renowned organ, The Brentford Mercury. This is not going to be easy, because Mr Shields the editor doesn’t have too much time for “girlies”. Ellie does not have too much time for Mr Shields, Ellie is one smart lady and if there is going to be trouble then she’ll be the one to deal with it.
Yet again the suburban paradise that is Brentford is under twin attack from the forces of evil and the threat of being turned into a theme-park, and this time the only saviours in sight are a bright young lady with an inordinate fondness for surf and turf and shoes to die for, an aspiring journalist and poet with an unhealthy addiction to video games and two oldsters with attitude. Follow the adventures of Ellie, Derek, Old Pete and Old Vic, learn the basics of Runese and discover the terrible secrets behind Mute Corp and all those video games which seemed so much fun at the time and find out whether Brentford can be saved, once more, from certain doom.
