I really enjoyed this book. I won this in a Goodreads giveaway. I believe we have lots of angels looking after us, so books like this make me happy. It is a great story of two lost souls who the angels are helping to reunited so they can finish their story..Good read
This one started out a bit slow for me since i am not a baseball fan. But as the story progressed it caught might attention. There is a spiritual realm that we all do not see, good and evil. I like to think that there are angels all around us, watching over us and even giving God a helping hand. So i enjoyed this one but not one of my favs by Karen.
Well, that was amazing and left me an emotional mess.
Karen Kingbury just does not write like she used to.
I learned two things life altering while reading Angels Walking by Karen Kingsbury:1) Perfectionism is only what you perceive it to be in your own mind. No one is perfect. God did not intend us to be. He wanted us to have our own unique flaws to be individuals.2) Forgiveness is powerful. One must learn forgiveness in order to completely give themselves over to God.I am very excited for this new series by Kingsbury.
I don't generally read Christian romance because it's just too fluffy, too sugary sweet. I remember reading a Kingsbury book years and years ago, so I thought I'd give this a try since I like angel books. This was like watching an episode of the old show Touched by an Angel, but grittier. This book speaks my language, the language of the Christian community. I didn't find it preachy or over the top, since again, the language here is familiar to me (I've been in ministry my entire adult life). Wha...
I'm stuck somewhere between wanting to devour book-2 and wanting to recover from this beauty... <3
First off, I should say I liked the book to an extent. I find many of these books the same and that frustrates me. Secondly, allow me to say that it was written well but in a predictable Karen Kingsbury way. And I say that with no malice, trust me, I do not mean any. Karen Kingsbury writes for all people and they are very nice Christian stories. My only issues with them surround how they are constructed. To me, these stories have the same plot lines. Boy and Girl are together. Boy and girl are t...
Karen Kingsbury's writing hasn't improved. If anything, it's become worse. I found the characters weren't believable and the plot was slow and rather boring.
The book starts out with a scene in heaven. Angels are given assignments. The reader is given a front row seat or bird's eye view of the messengers of His message - Angels. We then get the lineup of actors on the stage: Tyler Ames is a national baseball hero.Sami Dawson once Tyler's girlfriend moves on in life. There is a brand new medic named Beck (Angel). Ember is a waitress that get's Tyler's parents to pray for Tyler. Beck (Angel) then poses as a man in a shelter to help Tyler apply for a jo...
Beautiful story I literally read most of this book while my husband was in the hospital having major surgery to remove cancer. The synopsis of this book that there are angels among us and how the angels worked in the lives of the characters of this book brought me great comfort. The story was touching and the romance beautiful. It dealt with tough issues like Alzheimers, drug addiction and family estrangement. But KK brought it all together with an amazing HEA. Highly recommend this beautiful st...
Sometimes in my life I need to read a book that is an uplifting faith journey. For those times Karen Kingsbury rarely disappoints. I was drawn into the story of Tyler and Sami, two young people who's lives were destined to intertwine. Both were raised to attempt perfection in their pursuits. They were pushed to achieve greatness, but not given the tools to deal with the realities of life. So it took some hard knocks, and Angel guidance for them to accept grace and learn from their failures and m...
I've just discovered Karen Kingbury and I LOVED this book! The characters seemed so real to me and their problems felt tangible. I loved the feeling I had while reading this book, the reminder of God in our lives, and that even when things seem at their darkest, we have help from the other side. Excellent!
Excellent story to remind us that we are all here for an important purpose. The hard lessons we encounter will be what strengthens our purpose if we allow them to grow us, and not defeat us. We truly have an amazing Father to love us and see us through those challenges.
Hebrews 13:2 Do not neglect to show kindness to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels unaware. This verse is written on the stud of our home by our kitchen sink. I wonder if this was Karen's verse as she penned this book, or what gave her the idea for the book, maybe both. Tyler Ames wants to be a pitcher in the major leagues, but a injury in the minors sets him on a course that he never saw coming. Virginia is a resident at Merrill Place where Tyler becomes a maintenance man to sav...
Karen Kingsbury books are always a guaranteed quick read, and I've been dying to read this one since it came out. The hard part about KK books is that I am still in love with her Baxter series, so no other book of hers can fully compare to them. That being said, I still had tears in my eyes in a few spots. Definitely a good read!
