In the same tumultuous world as Cynthia Felice's ECLIPSES, Beth's and Aram's middle son disappears from home and blends in with the seemingly endless stream of colonists from Earth that threaten the ecological balance of Serensunar. Burning with ambition Erik finds himself on the frontier in a venture that needs the very skills his immensely wealthy family has but which he does not have access to. Indeed, he fears that his father will find him and drag him home against his will and try to force fit him into the family's empire.

Publishers Weekly— are complex personalities, and though the contract between them is simple, their emotions and interactions in the 32 years the story spans are not. Felice does a beautiful job in making these characters real…it makes for a warm and rewarding novel.
