The Mirrored Door

The Mirrored Door

Steve Mitchell
0/5 ( ratings)
In this Young Adult fantasy novel, Hero’s life changes forever when he follows a mysterious stranger. Lured into a forbidden part of the City, Hero catches sight of a mirrored door that harbours a terrible secret. Through other doors he glimpses the world of magic and menace beyond the city walls and realises that his destiny lies there.

Swept suddenly into that world, Hero and his older brother Tayler meet a shape-changing creature, Quist, who promises great power and fortune if they continue their journey. Though Tayler distrusts Quist and wants to find a way back to the safety of their home, Hero insists that they press on. But soon they are fleeing from an enemy with no face and plunge into a series of adventures and deadly games where they encounter other inhabitants of this frightening world – the innkeeper Madam P and her manservant Olim, the Lord of the Game, the elusive magician Etso Quin, Ling whose intriguing tapestries come to life. But which of them can be trusted? Which are false friends?

At last, betrayed to the Malevakk, humanoid beasts with a taste for human flesh, the brothers are dragged apart. But it is only then that Hero discovers the true purpose of his life-changing quest and its connection with a legendary city and an ancient prophecy. In the heart of the desert, as powerful winds gather and a mighty primeval force begins to stir, Hero faces a terrifying test of strength and courage. What he doesn’t know however is that if he survives, something even more shocking lies in wait – the truth concealed behind the mirrored door.
