The Line In The Sand

The Line In The Sand

David Kushner
3/5 ( ratings)
Susan George, the leading international correspondent for a major US channel television network decides to make a covert visit to Northern Iraq to investigate a report that may turn out to be a major theft of oil resources in the still unsettled border between Kurdistan and Arab dominated Iraq. She finds herself in a midst of a beleaguered Assyrian Christian community to which she is related by ancestry but whose relationship she has rejected throughout her public life. The community leader and his head of security try to dissuade her from continuing her investigation in this lawless, murderous part of Iraq. After her first interview with a lawyer representing the companies illegally wildcatting on properties whose ownership she had reason to suspect they obtained through murder by a notorious former colonel in Saddam’s Republican Guard. She is ambushed and kidnapped by the terrorist gang led by the ruthless officer who violently rapes and abuses her so as to humiliate and demean her. Her kidnapping leads to an attempt to rescue her.
