The Heartstone Saga, Part One: Heartstone

Darkness gathers.

For millennia, our world’s barrier shield protected our home from the dangers that lurk beyond. It is vital to keeping the evils that surround us at bay. Only now, the focus of the shield – a living gem known as the Heart of the World – has begun to falter. Shattered long ago, its power wanes…and with it, so do the energies that keep us safe.

Our enemies sense this. They are gathering their strength, becoming ever bolder in their actions, aware that the time approaches when they will be fully unleashed upon our world. All the while, our defenses weaken. Threats are everywhere, some mundane, others mystical.

Yet hope remains, and in a most unexpected form. Absorbed with their own problems, unaware of the larger threats around them, three young street thieves - Jilyan, who alone holds the power to find the Heart, her adventurous brother Razen, and their shifty friend Selgar - have stumbled upon one of the legendary heartstones – one of three shards broken from the Heart of the World, and the key to healing the wounded gem. Pursued for what they have found, they soon find themselves caught in the growing storm, unwitting caretakers of the coveted heartstone.

Tasked with returning the stone to its parent, hunted at every turn, the thieves embark on a journey through a conflict-riddled, forested land known as the Vale, towards the dangerous ruins of the once beautiful city of Callidor. Joined in this quest by a man named Corin Silverblade - a warrior with his own agenda - they must reach the Heart of the World before our enemies take them.

Our fate lies with them – should they fail, the darkness will be unleashed upon us all.
