In the Kingdom of Uglies, there came one day a travalling salesman who would make the people beautiful...
"Twice upon a time — for in this story, things happen and then un- happen — there was a kingdom of ugly people. Our story begins with a not-so-pretty-princess married to a not-so-handsome-prince.
The kingdom was ruled by a not-so-handsome-King, married to a not-so-pretty-Queen. Together, they had a second daughter, the not-so-pretty Luette, who liked to write poems that don’t rhyme and sing songs out of tune.
In this unattractive kingdom, everybody and everything was, in fact, quite ugly. But it was a kingdom ruled by peace. Everybody lived together quite happily."
