Becky and Rachel are identical twins - but in temperament quite different. Becky never intended to let a game go quite so far as it did when Rachel was left behind to go to the uncle's farm - and Becky found herself heading for the unknown great aunts' home. But it turns out to be a good summer after all - and Becky discovers a few home truths about herself and important relations to life that she might not have found if the game the twins played had been stopped in time. The period is not so long ago, but the settings have a kind of last generation flavor in point of view and a way of life, in traditional standards and shared responsibilities.
