4 STARS!I really liked this book. I did not read books one and two in the series before reading this book and found no issues diving right in to the story. This book opens with a bang leaving you with tears in your eyes, wanting to know what is going to happen next. This book was sweet, sexy, fast paced, and taught the reader a lesson about letting go and moving on after tragedy strikes. This is the story of Mackenzie "Mac" and Dean. After losing her husband and young daughter in a car accident w...
This was my first Wendy Owens book and it certainly won't be my last. This is book 3 of the Stubborn Love series but can be read as a standalone. The Luckiest sees MacKenzie Phillips having endured enough tragedy and heartbreak that would cripple most people. By 21 she's a widow and has lost her baby girl Katie.... How do you go on??? You hide away, shut yourself off and avoid the world then nothing bad can happen, no one can hurt you or leave you heartbroken. Mac copes for three years like this...
Wendy Owens has written another incredible story you won't want to miss. THE LUCKIEST is the third book in her Stubborn Love series and is connected to the first two books as the story of how Christian met his friend "Mac" while working as a roadie for his friend Dean's band. Although some characters overlap in this series to connect the books, each can be read as a stand-alone. However, I warn you. Once you get a taste of Wendy's writing you'll be going back for more!Be prepared for a love stor...

4.5 STARSOh Em Gee.......someone tell my why I haven't heard of Wendy Owens before now!!When I was asked to review this book I was a little hesitant because I hate feeling pressured to meet a deadline when reviewing a book and unless I specifically want to read something that isn't released yet I don't ask for/read ARC's. I am so glad I accepted this one and there was no problem meeting the deadline because I simply couldn't put it down and got through it over two days (I'm actually writing this...
I received an ARC for my honest review. I have only read one other series from this author. I am pretty new to her work. But I am fast becoming a huge fan!WOW! This story really touched me. Mac loses so much in her life and can't imagine moving on. She can't imagine ever being happy again. She is so devastated that she almost ceases to exist. When an opportunity comes knocking on her door she decides to open it. She meets some new people and they show her that life can continue. You can be happy
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. When I started reading "The Luckiest" I was armed with yes, my trusted friend kleenex!Mac is mourning the loss of Travis and Katie (husband and daughter), they were killed in an accident in which she was the soul survivor. Travis was her high school sweetheart, and they got married right after school, and no sooner did Katie arrive♥Fast forward 3 years....Mac has it rough and is no stranger to death, having lost her mum at a young a...
The Luckiest was a book that I was not expecting. I was seriously blown away by this book. This is my first Wendy Owens book and I am looking forward to reading more from her really soon. The books starts out with MacKenzie Phillips who has had a pretty sad life. Her mom dies when she was a kid. She met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart. They married right after high school and had a baby. Then she lost them both in a car accident. If that wasn't enough Mac's dad has just died as w...
Wow! When I first got this book it didn't click that this was part of series...it didn't really matter as it would have only given me a back story for one of the characters - but not a main one. So this can most definitely be read as a stand alone, though I have definitely added Ms Owens other two books from the series to my kindle to read very soon!Mackenzie(Mac) has had some pretty crappy luck in life. It started out perfect, Mum & Dad, a happy home and a her Mum's restaurant where all her tro...
Losing her husband and daughter in car accident left MacKenzie depressed and lost. Being the sole survivor of the accident, she is left to pick up the pieces, overcome the depression, and try to begin living her life again. But after such a loss, how can you possibly put yourself together again? This is not the only loss she has experienced either. She lost her mother just as she was about to need her the most during puberty. Now, she has lost her father too to a massive heart attack. He was all...
This book hit me where I lived. Have any of you heard that saying? No?! Yes?!? Maybe?!?! Anywho I will explain. It hit me in the place where the soul of me lives. The most honest part that you don't let anyone see because it would be just too personal, but that place you go to where you are most honest with yourself. The place where you can lay all your crap bare that is where this book hit me. It made me feel things I had long since buried. I, too, at one time had lost everything that meant any...
I read the blurb for this book, and once I started reading I had to go back to the blurb twice to make sure that Dean was the love interest in this book. Because Christian was pretty much the guy the focus was on for the first third of the book. Dean pretty much walked around acting like a dick and snarling at Mac and the food she made. Then he seems stunned that she's unaware that he likes her.I felt sorry for Mac (who wouldn't), losing her husband and daughter, and was rooting for her to get h...
Mackenzie is existing day to day after the death of her husband and young daughter. When another tragedy strikes, Mac must pick up her broken pieces and learn to survive. Existing is no longer an option. Stepping out of her cocoon, she must find a job and learn to move on. Easier said than done. There are characters you connect with from the start, sometimes due to their circumstances mirroring your own. God willing, I pray I never have to go through the pain and hurt that Mac had to go through....
The Luckiest person ever is me for getting to read this book early. I loved every minute that I stayed up late reading this emotional story. I could feel every tragic and ever happy moment in this story. Ever emotion the characters had, I had them right along with them. When they cried, I did and when they were happy it was an exceptional feeling you couldn't help but feel it. This author really out done herself writing this storyline. Mackenzie had lost everything and didn't know how she possib...
