When Detective Joe Marlen moves across England to take up a position in Central Birmingham, he finds a fragmented CID office struggling to solve a string of audacious bank robberies committed by an imaginative and well organised gang.
Left out in the cold by his own Sergeant, Marlen forms an uneasy partnership with fellow newcomer and former soldier Carl Stone. Together with Trainee Detective Elle Jacobsen, they pursue the gang by their own methods, but it isn’t long before each, in their own ways, start questioning their commitment to their friends, their job and even the law.
‘An intelligent, gritty thriller that lulls you into a false sense of security, before accelerating smoothly through the gears and slamming you into the unexpected. You won’t be able to put it down, and the last page will have you crying out for a sequel.’
