Watching 101 Dalmatians on television and reading its book was awesome, quite a different experience.Brought me back the memories of childhood, the time I spent watching it.Crella de Vil, I absolutely love her name. She has been my favorite villains of all time, reading it again gave me reasons why.Archit, you are going to like this book so much. Roger and Anita, Pongo, Perdita, Nanny and Lucky and .101 Dalmatians are going to make your day.
I think this publication seemed quite interesting with an appealing plot. The story was well built, while the characters attracted the audience throughout their behavior and conversations. The images were well-presented at the same time, this further improved the appeal of the work to the audience. The content is quite fascinating and memorable. Overall, this seemed to be a worthwhile publication for me.
The classic story of Pongo and Perdy saving their puppies and rescuing 89 other puppies with them! The book was a lot shorter than I remember but it was cute and Cruella Deville (Cruel Devil XD) was definitely evil. I forgot that she wanted to sell them to a circus; I had this weird idea that she wanted to make a fur coat out of all of them or something.
In the story "101 Dalmatians" Cruella De Vil went to Roger and Anita's house to buy their little puppies. Roger and Anita didn't want to sell them. Cruella De Vil got very angry, and hired two men to steal the puppies. I liked this book because Pongo and Perdita didn't give up when their puppies were stolen. I would recommend this book to kids that are learning to read, because it is an easy read and a fun story.
It seems small elements have changed in the story. The main noticeable one, in comparison to the original from when I was a child, was instead of Cruella Deville (I am not sure about that spelling), wanting to steal the puppies to make a coat, she now wants to steal them to sell them to the circus and get "rich". To me, this makes her a little less "vicious" and "evil", and the upgrading her in villain-ness, from deplorable, to not as bad makes me like the book less. If it had stayed the same, I...
Disney = Life!! love this
I did so enjoy the 101 Dalmatians when I was younger, mostly because it was a dog story. This book has the same art work/drawings as the movie. It was nice to read to my son, but not a favorite by any means. More nostalgia than anything for me.
One of the favourites on my bookshelf for the children when they visit. Recommended.
Read long ago as a child and then for my son.
Though it's not completely like the movie, it does hit the high points.
Why is Cruella selling the puppies to a circus?
I attended a lecture on the art of Little Golden Books, and found this delightful version of a childhood favorite available for sale. It is, of course, a highly condensed version of Dodie Smith's The Hundred and One Dalmatians, with delightful illustrations reminiscent of the beloved Disney movie.We see Pongo and Perdita, with the help of their animal friends, rescue not just their own puppies but many, many more from the clutches of Cruella deVil and her henchmen.Sweet little book.
I have my very own Physical Hard Back Book of this - the same exact copy of this. I love this story. It is so cute and so adorable. The Illustrations in this book is so awesome. I never got to read this as a child so I finally got around to reading this one. I love this beautiful story. I give this book 5/5 Stars. Happy Reading :)
I didn't even discover Dodie Smith until my twenties. But I loved this movie and book as a kid.
Great book. My 3 year old loves it and often ask me to read for him at bedtime. I like reading it too.
Pongo and Perdita’s pups are stolen by Cruella de Vil. I think the plot was very predictable plus it doesn’t help that this is a Walt Disney interpretation of the book. However, it was nice to see how the suspense is being built in the book. The illustrations I felt had a lot more to say about what was going on in the book than the writing itself. There were instances in the book that demonstrated very well how the characters were feeling. The bright colors really fit in with the bright, optimis...
Was storming and I was tired but wanted to read some more so I picked this. Never read or saw the movie of this cause not big on Disney movies for most part especially cartoons. I have it a chance and was an ok didn't like Cruella at all.Cruella stole the puppies to make a coat but thinks to some animal friends and their parents the puppies made it home safe. The 15 original plus more to equal 101 altogether. Favorite part Cruella going over the hill.
We got this from the library. My son has a much longer version in Italian, which is a little to difficult for me to translate, so I thought this would be a good substitute. It's very abridged, but it's meant to be for beginning readers. The illustrations are what you'd expect from a Disney Production.
One of the classic children's favorites based on the original book and the Disney movie. Loved it as a child, loved reading it to my children and now my grandsons. Great characterizations and great illustrations make it so enjoyable.
