This is one woman's story, but many women's truth! Though, born into an environment of poverty and struggle. Life was fine until that struggle came home and threatened the wholeness of every individual that dwelled there. As a young child Thakore didn’t understand the nightmare that was going on before her eyes; as her Father changed from her hero; to the boogie man. Drug addiction, Domestic violence and emotional abuse became a part of her growing up. Faced with much opposition and confusion, Thakore retreated inwardly. She became suicidal at age 12 and this would last until she was 25 years old. As a kid watching her Father deteriorate from drug addiction and her mother fighting to survive his abuse; Thakore vowed to never let anyone hurt her; however, she often tried to hurt herself by getting involved in bad relationships, trying to commit suicide and trying desperately to separate herself from people.

At a young age, she made the decision to not show emotion, but she longed for love and to be understood. She would search for years through relationships with men; but she never found what she needed. All she got was a deeper sense of regret, loneliness, unworthiness and rejection.

One day, a woman approached her with a message from God; it was the beginning of her journey to discovering who she really was, understanding the power of forgiveness and what it really meant to be healed, loved and whole.

At a crossroads on her journey; she had to face every secret, lie, deception, abuse and choice she made; in order to become happy. She yearned for joy and she was tired of it escaping her because of her past.

This is her story; Thakore takes off all the masks that she hid behind for years and what is unveiled is truth and with her new relationship with God, she faces every scar, bruise and deception head on. On this journey, she finally finds her peace and purpose, but the road was long and hard and she almost gave up. She illustrates a transparent story for women, she speaks from a place of truth, experience and gradual wisdom. She discuss her life experiences of emotional abuse, depression, toxic relationships, neglect, abandonment and rape in a way that is relatable to many women; as she chronicles what happened in her life; she helps the reader to discover that there is a way out of pain and misery and his name is Jesus.

If you have gone through difficulties of any kind in your life; as you walk with Thakore along her journey, you will discover that pain has a purpose and you can have a remarkable new beginning.
