After owning Siberian Huskies for 25 years and working with a Siberian Husky rescue group for 5 years, the Siberian Husky Rescue of New Mexico Inc. did a fabulous job on this book! They touched and nailed every bit of information they included with regards to welcoming a Siberian Husky rescue into your home and the trials, tribulations and triumphs that one may or will incur will owning this breed. This is a must read for anyone wanting to learn more about this wonderful breed. Thank you Dr. Cheryl Lentz for writing Welcome Home.

If you and your family are anticipating taking in a rescue whether it be a Husky or any other breed, just know that like any person you encounter, each one will come with its own set of quirks that you will need to get to understand. It may take a while, but know that you are doing a great thing for this soul who needs his or her forever family. You will be rewarded with lots of joy and unconditional love from your new fur baby and will wonder how you got along with him or her. As Dr. Cheryl says, just know what you are getting into and "Be prepared".

I enjoyed reading Dr. Lentz’s book, Welcome Home. I was laughing out loud as I read some of the scenes that she describes in the book, because I’ve observed some of the same scenes in my home over the years as well. What Dr. Lentz calls running with the bulls, and others call the zoomies, we called the rips. She is correct; nothing was safe when the rips began. I just wish we had a closed in tennis court at our disposal. What a brilliant idea. I also agree with her poignant description of rescues. Having had rescues over the years, I believe she describes them and their loving ways very well.
Whether you are a new pet owner or a pet owner again, you will enjoy this book. When I chose my current pet after seven years without one, the first thing I did was reach for a book as a reminder of what to expect and what to do. This is just such a book for Siberian Husky owners. Enjoy it and your new family members . . . and remember as Dr. Lentz says, “it’s their home now too.”
