Purrrfect Christmas: a short story

Johnny Dixon, a cat burglar who has eluded authorities for half a dozen years, usually cleans up with no problems during the Christmas season. That's when people are distracted by their holiday happenings and aren't as careful about locking up their bobbles and cash. He breaks in, burgles, and with no trace of his being there except for the target coming up short a few valuables. However, he will not touch wrapped presents under the tree, especially if there might be children involved. He remembers all to well, his own childhood disappointments of not getting presents. So far, this Christmas season has been down right jolly. That is until the Petersons' house. What he had not counted on was the family's cat who seems determined to foil his every move. This is a fun short story of about 3475 words.
