Running For Weight-Loss (With Pictures): How I Lost 180 Pounds In 13 Months By Exercising And Changing My Eating Habits

Running For Weight-Loss (With Pictures): How I Lost 180 Pounds In 13 Months By Exercising And Changing My Eating Habits

I knew my weight was increasing, but my view was that I can't lose it so I might as well keep going. Again, I could find no evidence that it was possible to lose weight and keep it off, especially as I had now ballooned to over 300. The only successful example I could find was Jared from Subway, and I knew he was being aided and trained by Michael Phelps. But ordinary people can't lose this much weight and keep it off. There's no point trying.

That was my attitude for the next fifteen years. I have to admit I did buy a treadmill once and used it twice, but aside from that, it was business as usual. The impact on confidence and self-esteem were there, but the confidence that I could actually do it was completely absent. I like logic. I work logically every day, and the evidence simply wasn't there. And the constant physical and social discomfort couldn't overcome this lack of scientific evidence.
