Rip-roaring fun. Bit dialogue-heavy.
Watched the stage production of this at the National Theatre last night and it was brilliant! Am currently reading the original tale of Treasure Island but I'd love to own a copy of this to re-read :) Think I'll be getting it next time I'm there.
3.5 stars. Watched NT Live production. Love the scene between Jim and Silver under the stars.
This play walked into my brain and blew the dust off my childhood obsession with Treasure Island. It reminded me of why I loved it, what first drew me in despite the blood and fear. However this time, the story also saw fit to remind me of the hell that being a lonely and sheltered teenage girl was.
