To the Jew First: Salvation

It has been estimated that more Jews have come to Christ during the last several decades than during the last two thousand years of world history. From 2001-2009, fifteen thousand or more Jews in Israel
have accepted Him as their Savior. What is going on?

God is at work with the Jewish people. Since 1948, thousands have come to Israel to be a part of the rebirth of that country. And during the same period, the Arabs surrounding the Jewish state, have brought about five wars, with the intended purpose of “driving the Jews into the sea.” But that has not happened, though from the human standpoint, it seemed tenuous for the survival of that small nation. However, the Bible has spoken plainly that God would restore the Jewish people back to their homeland. They have returned, many after being driven out ofEurope by the horrors of World War II. They have come back to the Promised Land in unbelief, just as the Bible said. The prophet Ezekiel said that God “will bring you into the land of Israel,” but then He “will put His Spirit within them, and they
will come to life” . During the time of Jesus, and before, the Jews were divided into their tribal distinctions, but when they return, they will be one people . “And they will live
on the land that I gave to Jacob ” . The promise from God is even more detailed. The Lord said to Ezekiel that He would “take them from the nations, gather you from
all the lands, and bring you into you own land” . Then He would cleanse them spiritually . That by degree, is now taking place! As this book is being written, the Arab nations, especially the
nation of Iran, is rattling the nuclear sword, with the stated intention of destroying the Jewish people. The world is presently holding its breath to see what will take place next. It must be remembered,
however, that despite the evil intentions of the enemies of Israel, God is still in charge! He is taking all of this to the prophesied seven year tribulation period.

The question then is, what does all of this mean to us today, and how should believing Gentiles relate to the people of Israel? The final purpose of this book is to inspire all Christians to have a
concern for the Jewish people, and to be pro-active in sharing the gospel with them. The Lord Jesus Christ is their Savior, and He is their prophesied King! There is no doubt we live in exciting times.
As Christ said, we are to be working while it is still day, and then the night will come when our opportunities are gone! Jesus said, “We must work the works of [the heavenly Father] who sent Me, as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work” .
