Vermeer Tango

Vermeer Tango

Robert Chirico
0/5 ( ratings)
Shortly after midnight of St. Patrick’s day in 1990 two men broke into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and committed the greatest, and still unsolved, art heist in history. Among them was The Concert by Jan Vermeer. In the novel Vermeer Tango, bartender, former art historian, and man of the world Max Brand is persuaded by a U.S. official to travel to Argentina to assist an art appraiser, and ex-wife Julie, in tracking down what appears to be the stolen painting. Following their quest, the reader will encounter unscrupulous art dealers, art thieves, and a forger harboring a personal vendetta as the couple embark upon a spirited race through the seductive, and often sinister, city of Buenos Aires to recover the Vermeer before it is sold at a secret auction.
