Born in Chicago in 1941, Bill moved to Texas in the early '70's and never looked back. He has made Austin his home for thirty-five years, spending the past twenty-four as a professional photographer. Bill married Michelle in 1985, and watching her breast cancer ordeal inspired him to use his photographic skills to compile books in hopes that it would help others facing breast cancer to know it is survivable. The volumes of The Smile Never Fades are dedicated to raising money to support breast cancer survivors.
