He then found out his father and uncle took part in the D-Day landings in June 1944. He wanted to walk on those beaches. What better time than in 2014, 70th Anniversary of D-Day?

Emma, David’s wife, was an avowed pacifist. She hated war and the glory and suffering it brought. A week in beautiful Normandy would give her a break from struggles in work and marriage.
