Beautiful design. Plot gets lost and gratuitous violence ensues. I'm a fan of horror/violence/strong violent women, but not a fan of how this was executed.
It was just ok, I don't know if I'll continue it but then again, it's only four books.
I definitely like the artwork and the use of various paneling and color in this issue, but the story was just ok for me. I may pick up issue #2 because I am curious to know what will happen next with the Fever girls...
Girl gang, turf war, B-movie feel, loved the colour art and the repping of WOC. Cool idea but didn't quite live up to expectations (story was meh, fell a bit flat).
Pretty good! The story of a small gang going up against a bunch of big bosses is interesting enough - but throw in an all-female primary cast who aren't afraid to kick butt, and I'm sold. The writing is good. I'm conflicted about the art. I really like the cover, but the interior art, though different from conventional comic book art, can be overwhelming at times with such bright colours. And to be perfectly honest, a lot of the time the characters just look ugly/awkward/unnatural, or indistingu...
1.5 - 2 stars
Decent introduction to this series with a female gang defending their territory and each other at its center. I'm looking forward to seeing how this title develops as we get further into the plot and characters.
I am pretty torn about this comic. I really wanted to love it, and it has a lot of elements that I do love, but it also left me feeling a little underwhelmed. The blurb for the comic says "perfect for fans of Rat Queens" and I have to agree, because it pretty much IS the Rat Queens, just set in an urban environment (and without the humour). Some of the characters even share the same names as several Rat Queens! That isn't to say its a bad thing. A comic about a gang of girls protecting their hoo...
It looked pretty but the story left a lot to be desired.
More music, less violence. I wanted this to be Jem and the Holograms and it just wasn't.
The writing and the illustrations were lazy, and the backstory was not well thought-through. Basically just cliches thrown into a comic: strong females, corrupt government, gang war, curb stomps, ratting loved ones out for a good reason and unexpected heroin use in a very active person. I liked that there was a queer couple but, yeah, that's about it.
Good introduction. I'm excited to see where the story goes. I'm all for gangs of ass-kicking women who call themselves sisters.
2.5 StarsThe story was hard to follow along with at times but the end did leave me intrigued and I want to see where the story goes. I also was't really a fan of the art but I liked the color scheme.
