A touching, hilarious rebuttal of the theory that all novels of adolescents are basically the same. And, until the day when his uncle Angelo is gunned down in a barbershop, Larry is unaware that his family is “not quite respectable."

When the newspapers reveal the unsavory details, Larry has a hard time defending his new identity to his friends, his girl, and especially to himself. Big Phil's Kid is the hilarious, bittersweet story of how he copes with this unusual situation.
