In light of the fact that our world has always been in conflict due to individual beliefs and varying goals of global nations, it is seen by some as only a matter of time before one group or another decides to inflict their religious customs and culture on those of different persuasions. In this fictional account of life in America in our present time, that is exactly what happens.
This gripping tale describes the struggles of Riley Campbell’s family as they are thrown into chaos from a quiet life in Texas after terrorist attacks around the world during the holiday season. They are horrified to discover that it is just the beginning of an effort to redesign America and other nations into a Muslim state.
Realizing they have to flee their home, Riley, her husband and their three children set out on a long journey to their family’s isolated hunting camp in the hopes of avoiding the conflict going on around them where death, rape, slavery and torture are very real possibilities for those unwilling to conform. Their trek is filled with suspense, fear and determination as they meet others on a similar journey and band together for survival.
Throughout their adventure, the continually growing group is guided by Christian convictions and Bible verses to give them strength, such as: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
~ Joshua 1:9
