Not a bad start to the series. My only complaint was that I wish that at least one of the stories was a done-in-one so I wasn't left hanging for *all* the stories in the book. I'm kind of left with an unfinished feeling. The good part is that I want to know what happens, but the bad part is that I have to wait a month before I can find out!
interesting but short.I really only wanted to read about the first story. The other two were ok. The first needed more development.
3.5 stars. I like what School Spirit and The Ruby Equation are doing, but I didn't feel like we got enough of Ruined to decide whether I like it or not. Still, definitely looking forward to the next issue :)
I didn’t like that this was three separate stories - all too short! And I only liked SCHOOL SPIRIT - for the art and story. Oddly the two white girl characters looked IDENTICAL (lol) so I could barely tell them apart.Yet, I remain intrigued. Will most likely read the next for the continuation of SCHOOL SPIRIT and see how we feel about the other two stories.
Story #1: School SpiritThe story ended when it was getting good. That's not fair. Girls need more time to make out in the car!Story #2: RuinedI'm not sure what's wrong with Catherine, but the art is lovely.Story #3: The Ruby EquationFunny, but kind of silly.
AHHHH was not disappointed at all I was hooked right away. Ngl tho I really don't care about ruined like I seriously want to l skip over it
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSBacked this on kickstarter, and am NOT disappointed. Drama of all types abounds, and they're all to be continued, and I can't wait for the next issue to see what happens next. There are three stories in this issue: The first includes a group of friends who are all helping each other hide their relationships. The second is a regency tale of a woman clearly marrying a man she does not love, and I'm very interested to see where that goes, and the third is...
The first and third stories were intriguing, the second less so -- but all three were way too short to really hook me. This volume is about the length of a regular comic book but with three totally different, unrelated stories crammed into it. I'm not sure I'll be buying the second one; if I do, it'll be because I want to support female creators, not because the first one was good enough to convince me.
School Spirit, by Kate Leth, Arielle Jovellanos and Amanda ScurtiRating: 3.5/5 stars. Review: Loved the art and the diversity but this first issue was too short for me to fully enjoy, which is my main complain with all the issues presented in the bundle. Anyway, what I liked the most: the queer rep/diversity and the fact that there's a WITCH you guys! I absolutely LOVE witches *.* Ruined, by Sarah Vaughn, Sarah Winifred Searle and Ryan Ferrier. Rating: 3/5 stars. Review: A period graphic novel/...
3.5 stars. I think this would be much better read in trade form, but these little snippets of stories were enjoyable enough. Ruined was definitely my favourite, followed by The Ruby Equation. School Spirit was okay, but I'm not really into stories set in high school.

I'm really not well-suited to comic book reading; I hate when stories and plot lines are not finished within the current issue/book. That being said, I like the concept of Fresh Romance, and the diversity of characters and stories, as well as the female-focus, is refreshing.
Once again something that I just got from noisetrade!!!This is just the beginning of a series and I love it. There are three completely different stories in there but they are all about love. The graphics are really beautiful and the stories are just really great written. Super easy to read. I seriously can't wait to see how things will develope.
i did a video review of the first 4ish issues of this magical comic series!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yEPe...
promising
I really enjoy this series but as a first issue, all three stories felt cut-off and truncated. Admittedly this was due to the fact that I though this was a short-story anthology series when in fact it's three ongoing a in one book. Don't worry, I liked the rest.
I did not understand anything in the first comic, especially with two characters who looked almost the same. I mean, yes, I liked that there was sexy action, but I felt like I was supposed to make something of the situation between the characters and I had no idea. I was bored by the second because pretty much nothing happened. Like, insert an inciting incident if you want to hook readers, maybe? Also, not my cup of tea in terms of graphics. The third one was the most accomplished in terms of plo...
I liked the art but the stories themselves were really weak.
3.5/5 transformations into potted plants3?? 4??? short stories from different creator teams, each with a romantic bent to them.(ok, I'm not actually sure how many are supposed to be in this considering that the goodreads description only lists the first 3, but my book had 4 stories [and a little 4 pager at the end].)(a) a fun lil magical(!) high school story. i almost wrote "romp" and decided not to. well. ok. ROMP. energetic art with an emphasis on sass, fashion, and colors.(b) a regency!!! i t...
Pros: First of all, the art for this comic is really good and the stories have potential. I just would recommend not reading this until it is compiled into a single volume.Cons: My biggest gripe is the size of the comic effected how much I could get into the stories. A normal comic single issue is 40ish pages for just one story, this book had 3 different stories. That means 13ish pages for each story which amounted to every story not being able to settle enough for me to know what is even going
