Fighting to Stay Alive Voices of Schizophrenia

Fighting to Stay Alive Voices of Schizophrenia

Adam Thompson
0/5 ( ratings)
Adam shares what it is like to live with Schizophrenia having voices and hallucinations nearly every day. Adam tells about his invisible friends 55, Derek, and Fluffy the cat. He explains how 55 and Derek try to get him to do bad things to himself while Fluffy fights to save Adam and keep him alive. Adam shares how 55 and Derek want him to light himself on fire and operate on himself.

55 wants Adam to cut his brain out because he believes that Adam's brain is being controlled by the government. 55 tells Adam that he must cut his brain out so that the government cannot find him and kill him. Derek has told Adam to try and cut his heart out several times claiming that he can give him a new and better heart that the government cannot track.

In this short read Adam explains his hallucinations and delusions so the reader can gain a better understanding of what living with Schizophrenia is like. Adam goes to pick up his medicine while 55 and Derek team up on him telling him that the medicine is going to kill him. It can be difficult to take medication when someone is there telling you that you are going to die if you take this medication.

Adam also explains his hallucination where Derek wants him to buy a can of gasoline and light himself on fire in his own apartment. Find out how Adam fights that hallucination in this book.

People often see Adam talking to himself but in reality Adam is talking to 55 and Derek or Fluffy. This book will let you experience Schizophrenia first hand. Here is an excerpt from "Fighting to Stay Alive Voices of Schizophrenia."

"There is also an increased suicide risk for people with Schizophrenia. There are two main risks of suicide. The first and most obvious is that a person with Schizophrenia might have a delusion or a hallucination telling them to hurt themselves or kill themselves. I experience hallucinations telling me to hurt myself on a regular basis and it is extremely difficult to try and fight them off.

One time Derek told me that I needed to go buy a can of gasoline and fil it with gas and bring it back to my apartment. Derek wanted me to light a match and burn myself alive inside of my own apartment. Thankfully I was able to get some help before I did that. It is good to get to a safe place with friends or family members whenever you are experiencing hallucinations or delusions."
