Event Day (Love/Kroft Book 1)

Event Day (Love/Kroft Book 1)

Christopher Spencer
3.8/5 ( ratings)
Event Day, 1993 -
Twenty-one years ago, a cataclysm cut the United States in two. "The Event". Kroft emerged screaming into the world in the back of a station wagon as his parents fled the horrors unleashed on that day.

Twenty-one years later, on the anniversary of the minor apocalypse, John Kroft tries to ignore his birthday. He just wants Event Day to pass without anything bad happening.

Kroft spent his childhood chased by forces crawling across the Midwest. As the terrors following the Event swallowed up both city and town, millions marched to the safety of Cincinnati in a humanitarian crisis the likes of which the world had never seen. John Kroft grew up in the middle of those worst of days, surviving as one of thousands of Event orphans in a city rapidly falling into ruin.

To Kroft, the annual celebration of Event Day is just another reminder of a life lived hard. But bad things always happen to Kroft. Especially on Event Day. As fate or design would have it, he collides with a woman who shares his birthday. They soon find themselves being hunted by an invisible, demonic creature. It will take all of his courage, strength, and utter madness to survive his birthday, rescue the girl, and earn some peace and quiet.

Love/Kroft Series One: "Fortress Cincinnati" -
Every other city or town that tried to resist the slow, creeping effects of the supernatural poison soon turned lifeless and corrupt under its effects. Those who tried to fight it ended up twisted and insane. After two decades, as the terrifying forces start to surround Cincinnati, the city must become a fortress or die. This is the first in a series of stories chronicling the lives and deaths of the citizens of Cincinnati who must fight against the continuing horrors spewed upon the earth by the Event.
