Dallas USA

Dallas USA

A.C. Greene
4/5 ( ratings)
Great cities, like famous figures, often have two personas - the way they are and the way we insist they are. Perhaps in no other city is there so great a distance between what a city actually is and what people like to think it is than Dallas. And probably no man is better equipped to bridge that distance than A. C. Greene, newspaper editor, historian, armchair sociologist and, best of all, a man who can belly up to the bar and tell a tale. Dallas is something of a passion with him, and he walks us through its clean, sunny streets with a canny sense bred of familiarity. There appears to be nothing about Dallas Mr. Greene does not know - except, perhaps, the definitive answer to the question of how it got its name.

There are at least three good reasons for reading ''Dallas USA'' - you're moving to Texas; you want to know what makes the Sun Belt tick; you like a good read.
